Orbis Books has recently published the contributions from the SEDOS Mission Symposium held in Rome on October 11-15, 2021, under the title: “New Trends in Mission. The emerging future.”

SEDOS (Service of Documentation and Study of global mission) is «a forum open to all the Roman Catholic institutes of consecrated life which commit themselves to deepening their understanding of global mission» (https://sedosmission.org/). At the moment, SEDOS numbers more than eighty member Congregations.

This book (https://orbisbooks.com/products/new-trends-in-mission), in addition to the Opening Message of Pope Francis, the Inaugural Address of His Eminence Card. Luis Antonio Tagle, the Preface by Fr. Tesfaye Tadesse Gebresilasie, Superior General of the Comboni Fathers, and the Presentation by Fr. Peter Baeckelmans, brings together contributions from missionaries and mission scholars working in various parts of the world. Among them the contribution of our Xavierian Sister Maria De Giorgi: “Interreligious Dialogue in the Context of Mission” (pp. 217-225). Maria, missionary in Japan since 1985, works in the field of interreligious dialogue at the Shinmeizan Center. Currently she also serves as Consultor to the Pontifical Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue.
