Felicitas - “Licha”- Santiesteban is a Mexican Missionary of Mary. After finished her formation in Rome (Italy), she was assigned to the mission in South Brazil. Currently, Licha is in Parma (Italy), in charge of our Social Media team.

What is your current ministry? My current mission is to evangelize and to humanize the new “digital continent” (Social Media), through the tenderness and determination of the Gospel, and encouraging a communication that creates emotional and effective ties with the life God. Also, I work in the formation of catechists and parents in two parishes.

What is your favorite part of ministry? I enjoy meet people, share my faith and to contemplate the marvelous works that God makes in our lives through our relationships. Besides, I enjoy take pictures and make “eternal” those moments that life offers us as a manifestation that God walks with us.

Your favorite way to pray? When I am in contact with nature, a gift from God. The colors, smells, the sea, the stars talk to me about God and invite me to go into a deep relationship with Him. I pray when I’m climbing a mountain, going through a river, listening to the rain whispers or when it is snowing. The planet was created with so much love that I can feel it.

What is the best part of living in community? The strong friendship and solidarity is expressed through many gestures. Also, when I can be related with the “different” aspect that challenge me and help me to go forward.

Most fun you have had with your community? The relaxing time together (watching a movie, preparing a play, etc.) Also, when we work together in pastoral ministries, contemplating how God expresses His love in thousands of ways.

What do you do for fun? I like to read a enjoyable book, to sing and to play the guitar, to dance, to watch a good movie, to eat popcorn, and to stay by myself in the solitude of my bedroom once in a while.

Any nicknames? Yes, my oldest brother calls me “Rita” when we meet!

Any words of wisdom for those considering missionary-religious life? Mission is possible because God loves, calls and sends only by pure love. Don’t be afraid to put your dreams in His Hands, He makes them possible!!! Listen carefully to your inner voice; only there your will find Who loves, as no one has loved you. God is simple and through simple ways He will talk to you. Don’t expect something spectacular: He is the God of daily ways!!!n
