What are you looking for?

There is no doubt about the precious gift of digital technology in our current world.

Nowadays, it is enough to open our laptop or to touch the screen of our iPad or smartphone to have thousands of possibilities to connect and to find any kind of information we need. But really, is it only necessary to have a good digital search engine to find what are we looking for?

Of course not! The most clear and specific idea about what we are looking for, the best results we will find. Moreover, if we are a skilled researcher, we can use the “advanced search” or a specialized search engine to find the specific person, thing or information we are searching; isn’t it? If not, we will waste hours and hours doing our research without getting the best results.

This works also for our pursuits of the meaning of our life!

We are “equipped” with everything we need to become the best version of ourselves, but if we don’t know clearly and specifically for what we were called to life and we don’t use the “advance search tool” and the specialized engine, we will waste not only hours in our research, but days and years!!!! Without any meaningful result.

Jesus asked to Andrew and the beloved disciple: “What are you looking for?” (Jn 1:38); they were looking for their Savior. Following Jesus to the place where He lived, they stayed there, where they have their first personal encounter with Jesus. “It was about four in the afternoon” (Jn 1:39), it was a such significant encounter that they remembered the hour. It was the beginning not only of a lifelong permanent encounter with Jesus, but of a lifelong permanent encounter with themselves; only Jesus can reveal clearly the meaning of our lives, our call to life.

Then, let us start the real and most important research of our life! Let us begin an “advance search” as a skilled researcher! Let us stop of wasting hours, days, years! Let us ask to ourselves: what am I looking for?

Good research!!! ;)
