On this past Pentecost Sunday, there was a nice celebration with children and youth from the center and the parish of Saint Joseph in Phrae.

Phrae is one province in the North-Thailand region that is far 97 km away from  Nan province where we live, about 2 hours by car. St. Joseph Center in Phrae that is running by PIME fathers, welcomes people from 3 to 70 years old with physical disabilities.

From the request made by Elena, an Italian girl that is the director of the center, our sister Bete organized all the activities on that Sunday, bringing with her twelve youth as animators from Nan. First, these young people had to practice on different activities the day before in order to be able to lead other children.

The Providence has allowed that these activities were held on the Pentecost ‘day. Moreover, the Providence willed that two girls from Taizé Community, a German and a Vietnamese, were in those days in Phrae. Thus, we had the opportunity to celebrate the Pentecost vigil at the rhythm of the prayer of Taizé.

The activities began with the Eucharistic celebration presided by the parish priest, father Ivo of PIME. After Mass, we moved to San Giuseppe center to continue our activities. And on that day there was “…A sound like the blowing of a violent wind and filled the whole house…" Ac 2,2.

According to the 5 continents, the children that were divided into 5 groups ended the day activities by releasing high red balloons. Meaning like that their offering of the whole humanity, asking for the gifts of the Holy Spirit; in order that our world may be inflamed by the warm love of the Holy Spirit.
