On June 4th, 2017 we had the pleasure of celebrating the National Meeting of the Lay of the Xaverian Missionaries of Mary. It was an occasion that brought us together along with the Sisters, who with special love and sympathy are with us in our path of deepening the charism of our Congregation.

We enjoyed sharing the experience of a ‘going out’ Church which we are living personally and as a Group, bringing our charism in our daily lives, which testifies the happiness of the Gospel to the people around us. The historic context in which we live offers countless opportunities to testify with passion and faith the tenderness of God to all His children. This impels us to be aware of the signs of God’s presence, with the certainty that we will find it in every culture, person, and nation.

Also, with the guidance of Fr. Mario Menin sx, we reflected on the “ordinary” holiness of Saint Guido Maria whom didn’t shine bright solely because of his extraordinary gifts, but because of his skill of making ordinary daily things extraordinarily good.

Finally, during the Mass, 14 of us said “yes” to the call of God to be a Lay of the Xaverian Missionaries of Mary. This “yes” is the fruit of a time of discernment and formation. This “yes” is the explicit promise to live the Gospel radically, according with the charism of our Founders in the mission ad gentes. It was a very significant moment that took place in the Feast of Pentecost, the day in which the disciples full of the Holy Spirit started the Church, a Church that began to “go out” to announce the Good News to all the people.
